After a picture of Paris Hilton shown crying outside a nightclub was blasted online earlier this week, it looks like the young socialite has good reason to be crying right now.

The hotel heiress is usually the life of the party, but not last night when she was busted for driving under the influence.

Police say Paris was arrested early Thursday morning for DUI when they saw her driving erratically and pulled her over for a breathalyzer test.

Officer I. Isabella confirmed the arrest, which was made shortly after 12:30a.m. in Hollywood.

According to police, the wild party girl was driving home after attending a charity event. Earlier that day, she had spent some time making a new music video for her album.

In a statement, Isabella said, "The officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. A field sobriety test was conducted at scene, and the officers determined she was driving under the influence."

Paris was then booked on a misdemeanor DUI and released a short while later.

The legal limit of blood-alcohol level in California to warrant an arrest is 0.08 percent. Paris' spokesperson, Elliot Mintz, said she reached the minimum for an arrest but only had one drink throughout the night - a margarita.

Of course, plenty of excuses can really come in handy at a time like this. Elliot says the DUI was probably the result of "an empty stomach and working all day and being fatigued."

When asked about how Paris is currently doing, he said, "She's absolutely fine."

Average margarita is equivalent to 2-4 drinks. Let's say she weighs 120 lbs (she's 5'8", which means a BMI of 18.2 which is a touch underweight). Worst case if that margarita was strong and she drank it over an hour her BAC would've been 0.14.

Well first of all I am getting sick of people worrying about somebody else`s problem.
I know Paris for a while now, You can`t just calculate how much somebodies alchohol blood level would be. Stress, no sleep, etc. are all factors which have an influence on somebodies blood level. Her weight is a little less than posted above so it`s wrong allready.

I don't think so. The calculation is quiet right and you know what? Defending her is not going to help her in anyway. She should stop being such stupid girl. Driving under influence of something, whatever it is dangerous and she is dangerous to the society.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
