Paris Hilton has snubbed spending Thanksgiving with her family to attend the MTV Style Gala in China.
The heiress arrived in the Chinese city of Shanghai earlier this week and, in a further snub to her relatives, she chose to stay in the Hyatt hotel instead of the Hilton.
A source said, "The panoramic view from the hotel room seemed the major attraction of the Hyatt. Paris hopes to gain a better understanding of the city's charm within a limited time."
Paris has ordered three evening gowns for tomorrow's gala, and it has been reported the 26-year-old is planning to stage a mini fashion show. During her stay, Paris will also visit the Shanghai Museum and Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
She has already visited traditional clothing shops, wandered around carrying a cuddly toy panda and even tucked into some local specialties at a top restaurant.
It was recently revealed Paris wanted to move to New York to find a new man.
The "Simple Life" star - who recently split from her 20-year-old pizza delivery boyfriend Alex Vaggo because he was too shy - told her sister Nicky she wanted to move to the 'Big Apple' because there are no hot men in Los Angeles, where she currently lives.
