Owen Wilson has made his first public appearance since his suicide bid.

The "Wedding Crashers" star - who was rushed to hospital in August after slitting his wrists - attended the Los Angeles premiere of his new film "The Darjeeling Limited" last night.

He was joined on the red carpet by co-stars Adrien Brody, Anjelica Huston, Jason Schwartzman and director Wes Anderson.

Before the movie started, Anderson introduced his good friend Wilson, saying, "I've never made a movie without him and I hope I never have to."

The pair have worked together on several films, including "Bottle Rocket", "Rushmore", and "The Royal Tenenbaums", for which they were nominated for a best screenplay Oscar.

Wilson's close friend Ben Stiller recently revealed his "Zoolander" co-star is doing well. Stiller said, "He's doing really well. I sort of like to protect his privacy, because I feel like it's his own thing. But he's a really good friend of mine. He's an incredible guy and I wish him, as everybody does, all the best."

The pair were due to be reunited on screen for new comedy "Tropic Thunder", but Wilson pulled out after issuing a statement saying he was recovering from the incident.

He has been replaced by Matthew McConaughey.
