Orlando Bloom has turned down a role in the new 'Knight Rider' movie.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor was approached by David Hasselhoff to play the son of Michael Knight, the character he made famous in the original 80s TV show, in the upcoming remake, but ultimately refused.

Bloom told Britain's Daily Express newspaper, "He'd heard I was a fan of the old show and said, 'We're doing the movie version and I'd love you to play my son in it.' I replied, 'Er, well, that sounds great, but you'd need to speak to my manager."

Bloom-who is dating "Superman Returns" actress Kate Bosworth-says he decided to pass on the offer because he was never really a die-hard fan of the series.

"I used to watch when I was eight but I didn't like it anymore than any other series. My favorites were 'The Fall' and 'The A-Team,'" he added.
