Oprah Winfrey has always been front and center to tell other people's stories, but she never thought she would have one of her closest family members put the spin on her.

The queen of talk was recently informed that her father is getting ready to write a tell-all book about one of America's most beloved stars. Vernon Winfrey has promised to put his daughter in the hot seat for a change, in a book that has already left Oprah "stunned" and "upset."

Miss O recounted how she was told the shocking news, saying "One of my assistants said, 'The Daily News is calling. They say they heard your father is writing a book about you.' I said, 'That's impossible. I can assure them it's not true,'" reports Hollywood.com.

She added, "But then my sister said, 'I think you should call your father.' I called him and it turned out he is writing a book. The worst part of it was him saying, 'I meant to tell you I've been working on it.'"

Part of Oprah's frustration is that she feels it would have been a "nice gesture" and "courtesy" for her father to let her in on his latest project.

She said, "I would have preferred to have known my father was working on this. It would have been a nice gesture, a courtesy."

Although we have yet to find out what the new book will specifically entail, it will most likely show a different side to Oprah that we don't usually see, and that is probably why Miss O is "stunned," to say the least.

Oprah's dad needed money. She should have given him lots of it by now! My parents would never want for a thing if I had her money.

I think it would be a very informational book, I am curious to know what kind of life Oprah lead when she was growing up, it had to be a very rewarding one, because it has produced a wonderful caring person.
The only thing i an upsent about is that her father should at least notify oprah about his new venture.

I believe her father has every right to write a book, why is Oprah upset? She seems upset and put him down as if he wasn't smart enough to do a book. He is well thought of, I will be reading the book.
