OK! Magazine went into the shoot with Britney Spears filled with hope but left feeling gunned down.
Editors at the weekly tabloid magazine planned to assist Brit in her first interview of 2007, signaling the start of her comeback. However it has been highly publicized how badly the day turned out.
The final article could turn out to be even worse.
The tell-all article will be released on July 27, titled "Britney's Meltdown." Despite Britney seeking out the press herself, OK! has decided to tell the truth and paint a real picture of the former pop star's current mental state.
Between stealing clothes, bizarre on-set behavior and even going to the bathroom with the door open, OK! has felt compelled to inform fans about Britney's fall from grace.
The article reportedly starts with, "At OK! we love celebrities, and we love bringing our readers exclusive photos and interviews with the stars at their happiest times - when they are getting married and having babies, or starring in blockbuster movies and winning Oscars."
The article about Britney, however, is far from celebratory. Entertainment Director Rob Shuter, who was absent from the shoot but has talked to present members of his staff, said, "She seemed to be having an enjoyable time. Britney hasn't done a photo shoot like this one for a long time. She's been on covers, but not one she posed for in a long time."
OK! Editor-in-chief Sarah Ivens was with the team at the interview and photo shoot and is less tactful. She explained, "It was like a cry for help really, it wasn't normal. We were all devastated."
The damaging piece ends with, "At OK! we'd love to have our old Britney back. But what we experienced was a young girl who is desperately in need of help. And sadly, she has surrounded herself with too many people who are pretending that nothing is wrong."
Britney is desperately trying to make a comeback to her former glory. She has recently filmed her first film clip in two years and is ready to show fans that she still has it.
