Mischa Barton can't understand why she isn't more famous in the UK.
The actress - who was born in London but moved to New York when she was five - moaned that despite enjoying huge fame in the US people don't recognize her in her native country.
She said: "I'm so surprised nobody really knows me in England. It's just unbelievable. I have to introduce myself, which I never have to do in the States."
The 20-year-old actress has also been whining that she is having a tough time distancing herself from her character Marissa, the rich brat character she played in "The O.C."
She said: "People assume I'm from Orange Country. Marissa hasn't seen much outside her bubble, but I like people to discern that I'm an English/Irish girl who grew up in New York and moved around a lot with my dad's job."
Mischa is so determined to move into more serious acting roles that she has enrolled on a course at the Royal Academy for the Dramatic Arts (RADA) - London's prestigious drama school this summer.

Stay in London and act like a brat then in a few years and you'll wonder why you're no longer famous in the US either.

Well, in fact, it's going to be difficult for her to distance of Marisa, because Mischa and Marisa have things in common. They are (now) rich, with lots of boys arround, fashion clothes...I agree also with the other anonymous, who add his comment before mine. If she lived and acted in England, people would recognize her more.

Geez are these celebs every happy?! Not enough attention, too much attention, blah blah blah boo hoo. Finish off your acting classes, go do OC for the UK (what would that be Brighton???), and then you can moan about how you get too much attention in the UK alright?

I agree with fmskewl....no matter how much these people have, they aren't happy. So go away...there are too many other IMPORTANT things going on to care about if some spoiled snot is "not famous enough"
