Oasis have hired former SAS soldiers as bodyguards. The group's guitarist Noel Gallagher was reportedly wary of performing live following an incident in Canada last year where he suffered cracked ribs after being attacked by a stage invader, and insisted the band draft in extra security guards ahead of their U.K. stadium shows.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Noel was seriously shook up after he was attacked. It was a freak moment when someone burst through and managed to get on stage. But he wanted to make sure he never had to go through that again."

Noel Gallagher wants to launch a range of swine flu protective face masks. The Oasis guitarist and his bandmates are currently touring South America - where the deadly disease originated - and Noel is so taken with the germ-shielding facewear people are wearing he wants to have some made emblazoned with the group's logo.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Noel thinks the face masks look amazing. He has been joking that he feels like a 'James Bond' baddie. He's keeping his for the summer shows back in the U.K."

Noel Gallagher wants to move to America - but can't because of his kids. The Oasis guitarist has grown to love the U.S. as he has gotten older but can't make it his permanent home because he doesn't want his children - 18-month-old son Donovan, whose mother is Noel's long-term partner Sar MacDonald, and eight-year-old daughter Anais, with his ex-wife Meg Mathews - to have American accents.

Noel, 41, said: "I've grown to like America. It's a place for adults. Once you get past 40 you start to appreciate it.

Noel Gallagher says his brother Liam is like the "blackest winter ever." The Oasis rocker believes he is far more optimistic than his sibling bandmate, and claims Liam - who he has repeatedly clashed with over the years - often has a gloomy effect on people.

When asked what season he is most like, Noel said: "I am eternally spring. But my brother Liam is like the blackest winter ever."

Kate Moss has canceled her proposed New Year's Eve party on the orders of her boyfriend. The 34-year-old supermodel was planning to attend a star-studded bash in St. Tropez, in the South of France, but her Kills guitarist partner Jamie Hince has insisted she spend the day at home with him and her six-year-old daughter Lila Grace, from a previous relationship.

The couple - who recently reunited after splitting in September because Jamie was worried about Kate's partying - will see in 2009 at her Oxfordshire home, in the U.K.
