Keith Urban has recently opened up about his time in rehab and his marriage and now it is Nicole Kidman's turn.
The Oscar winning star appeared on Oprah's Academy Awards TV special and was interviewed by her long-time friend Russell Crowe.
The actress, who has remained tight lipped on her husband's battle with alcohol, was close to tears as she revealed the hardships her marriage has faced.
She said, "Keith is doing very well. We've been through a lot."
Before Crowe could ask another question, Kidman cut him off to expand on her answer, saying, ""Let me finish that because that will be seen as a superficial answer and I don't like to give those. We've dug really deep. Three months into our marriage we had to dig really deep. And that's what we are doing. We're in the process of doing that."
However, the star is also looking to the future.
The mother of two adopted children with ex-husband Tom Cruise, Kidman has been vocal in her desire to have a baby.
She told Crowe, "Am I going to have a baby? I hope so."
New Zealand born Crowe then asked, "Are you going to carry a baby?" to which Kidman replied, "I would hope so."
"The Hours" star went on to reveal that she recently had a near death experience which helped clear her mind.
She said, "It was in that moment when we were all going 'This could be the moment when we die' and I always thought the moments before I died I'd be terrified, but I went into this state of calmness. That's when I realized my conscience was clear and that I had managed to purge myself of all the things that had weighed so heavy on me and that's when I realized I wasn't so afraid of death."
Kidman and Urban married just months before he went to rehab to be treated for a dependence on alcohol.
