Actress Nicole Kidman is celebrating Tuesday that she has been a mom to newborn daughter Sunday Rose for a full day. Kidman gave birth to the six pound, seven and a half ounce baby girl on Monday.
Sunday Rose is her first child with country music star Keith Urban.
The birth of the 41-year-old actress's first biological child comes just days after Kidman and Urban celebrated their second wedding anniversary on June 25.
Kidman, who won an Oscar in 2002 for her role in "The Hours," adopted a boy and a girl when she was married to Hollywood actor Tom Cruise.
"We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers," Grammy-winner Urban, 40, said in a statement on his website announcing the birth of "our beautiful baby girl."
"We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today." According to People magazine, prior to the birth of their baby, Kidman and Urban kept a low-profile as they followed their usual routine of heading out for Starbucks coffee and going to the gym in Nashville, where they live in a gated community.
"She's never been happier and healthier," a close family friend told the magazine. "She is absolutely radiant and enjoying nesting and homemaking with Keith at their new home in Nashville."
The couple met in January of 2005 at a black-tie dinner in Los Angeles sponsored by the Australian government.
