Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are spreading their wealth to make parenting a little bit easier for other expecting couples.
The star pair, who will welcome their first child together in January, have started a children's charity to, initially, help mothers in need.
The Richie Madden Children's Foundation was launched at "The Simple Life" star's Los Angeles baby shower. The former reality TV star was joined by her mother Brenda and BFF Paris Hilton to celebrate her impending arrival.
While some reports have suggested that the boy-influenced baby gifts indicated a son for the famous couple, it has been revealed that Nicole and Joel asked guests to donate gifts to their charity.
A source said, "Nicole and Joel has asked friends to give cribs, strollers and stuffed animals to their foundation."
The couple will then be donating the presents to the Los Angeles Free Clinic after they are made up into 100 'Mom-To-Be Kits'.
Good Charlotte front man Joel recently revealed that they were not finding out the gender of their baby, saying, "We are waiting to find out if it is a boy or a girl. We don't even know. So right now it's an 'it', which sounds wrong. We call it 'the baby'. When we talk to it, it's 'you'."
