Nick Lachey has made the dreaded phone call to his ex to tell her he is getting married again.
According to reports, Lachey spent 40 minutes on the phone to former spouse Jessica Simpson, informing her that he is planning to walk down the aisle again.
Simpson, who filed for divorce from Lachey in 2005, is said to be taking then news very badly.
Lachey allegedly said, "I'm getting married again Jess and I wanted you to hear it from me."
The singer, who had a hit single this year with "What's Left Of Me", has been dating MTV host Vanessa Minnillo since the met on the set of the video clip accompanying the tune.
The "Employee Of The Month" star, who has been single since the split, was rumored to be dating John Mayer but she has since dismissed the story.
But despite claiming to be happy being single, a source close to Simpson claims, "She knew Nick and Vanessa were serious, but this threw her. She did her best to contain her emotions."
