Before making it big as a music superstar, Nelly Furtado originally had other ambitions she wanted to pursue.
Nelly admits she didn't always have her eyes set on winning a Grammy. In the beginning she was more interested in playing the sports field rather than scoring a hit record.
The pop singer recently said she had dreams of becoming a writer and professional athlete before she won her lucky card in showbiz and had her life completely transformed.
At first Nelly wanted to become an athlete. However, many losses and disappointments in high school eventually made the brunette change her mind. She then chose to seek a career in creative writing but somehow those plans also went down the drain.
According to StarPulse.com, she said, "I wanted to do creative writing at university, to write books and poems. I briefly wanted to be an athletics star but I gave up on that in high school because I never won a race.
Ultimately, Nelly realized that her talents belonged on stage, in front of thousands of fans.
