Natalie Cole has been discharged from hospital. The 58-year-old singer - the daughter of late legendary crooner Nat King Cole - was admitted to a New York medical center last month after a setback in her battle with Hepatitis C.

She has now been allowed to return to Los Angeles and is considering returning to work in November, despite canceling tour dates for this month after being placed on bed rest.

Natalie's spokesperson said: "She is back at home and she seems to be doing pretty well. The Hepatitis C is pretty much under control. She did need to do some kidney dialysis but that's not related to the Hepatitis C."

Family friend Quincy Jones recently spoke about his concern for Natalie.

He said: "We are very concerned about her. She's not doing well right now. We had a doctor we met at a benefit the other night that says he has the new technology that could save her with Hepatitis C, so we're trying desperately to reach her to get in touch with her because she's in the hospital as we speak."

Natalie is believed to have contracted the disease around 30 years ago due to drug use.

Hepatitis C can cause inflammation of the liver, and in extreme cases, liver cancer.
