Missing British 3 Year Old Girl, Madeleine McCann, in Portugal

How many children were in that holiday complex that night?.Yet someone slipped in and took a unattended child, why i ask? because they knew they would be alone! I have one question.A professional couple , working, juggling child minders, get to spend quality time with their kids and they are left alone!!.is this an error of judgement or an act of selfishness? My thoughts are with Maddy.no child should be alone in an adult world, i pray that she is safe and is returned home to a world that loves her!

who ever has got maddy please please return her to her mom and dad, imagine if someone took your life away from you how would you feel. you have no right making anyone suffer like this, please let her go home, he will be missing her mom and dad

Family holiday means just that!
Three children under the age of four left alone in a room on their own - use a buggy or pram like most people would and let the children sleep beside you if you need to go out - if not have a bottle of wine on the balcony. Im sure this wasnt the first night they must have done this type of thing.
I sincerely hope this little girl is found she must be terrified and for her I do pray. I also pray for the other children who will now not be able to live a normal happy life due to the irresponsible actions of the parents - however she wouldnt have been in this situation if her parents had not been so selfish and used their "commensense" !
The authorities should be called in for "neglecting their children"; mr and mrs joe public would have been hauled over the coals for this type of action and so should maddies parents.
You wouldnt wanting them advising you on a medical basis now would you, their judgement would be quite unacceptable.
All this being on holiday makes you have a false sense of security is rubbish - it makes me even more aware.
And as for the comments from anonymous who regards people that are blaming as being extremely uneducated persons, well all us uneducated persons would not have been so stupid as to leave THREE CHILDREN UNDER FOUR ALONE IN AN APARTMENT ALL NIGHT.. So who is the educated one? eh? Why I do believe it is all of us that have our children with us and didnt put ourseles before our children .

To find this little girl the police have to return to the scene of the crime & re-evaluate
before any evidence is lost within the appartment & Hotel complex.It would not be
uncommon for a young child to wake,get up & wander off.This brings another query
to mind ,the appartment door would have been locked I won't even go there!.My

My heart deeply goes out to little maddie's parents. I do feel very sorry for you, but the children shouldn't have been left alone now matter how short of a distance from the hotel you were, however No matter how close an eye we keep on our children sometimes the bad just happens. I never let my 2 year old son out of my sight and yet he still passed away. It has been 3 years now and my heart still aches for him everyday and every night. I pray so soo hard that your precious little maddie comes home to you both, I don't wish the pain of losing a child on anyone. May God bless your entire family. I must say I truly sympatize with Maddie's parents. They are going through hell.
BUT, this is a very good example of parents who put their own needs first. If you have half a brain, you should know NEVER to leave small children unattended. So many things can happen.What if one of the babies gets sick ? What if there is a fire ? Even if you check your kids every 30 minutes, things CAN happen. How can responsible parents leave a 4 year old girl alone and expect her to take care of younger children ?
What if one of the toddlers choked on something ? Checking them every 30 minutes would not allow for enough time to save this child. Children, even quiet and mature ones, can get in trouble. It is our responsibility as parents to watch over them, to protect them. Why not hire a babysitter ? Or just stay in your villa and have your supper there, where you can check on your kids. I see child neglect or disrespect almost everyday. Smoking in the car with the windows up while children sit in the back, arguing in front of children, screaming at them.I often see toddlers in strollers on a very cold day, without a hat or mittens.PLEASE, parents, wake up and take good care of your kids. They are our future. They are innocent and fragile and they depend on us, adults to protect them. I know some people who are on social welfare, and they are the best parents. Some others, professionals with a lot of money, often ignore their kids needs to better fullfill theirs. When you decide to have children, you need to know you have to put your own needs aside for a while and think of your children first. When they become teenagers and adults, you will have all the time in the world for leisure. Let's hope this precious little girl is found alive and healthy. This is so sad.

Get a life you people who blame the parents. Your child could be sleeping in another part of the house and what if if chokes or suffers an asthma attack. I understand that people are slandering the parents, but they expect us to have the most sympathy for them, when it was indeed their own fault. if we can believe the news, the parents left their 3 children unattended EVERY night of the holiday- I can understand to perhaps do it once, but every night? Seems rather irresponsible, because although the unlikely event of an abduction could not have foreseen, 2 year and 3 year olds frequently wake up at night and want to see their Mummy or Daddy, get thirsty, have bad dreams, just want a cuddle. Thus, this seems rather cruel to me. And if I want to go out every night, for several hours I would definitely hire a babysitter or take friends or family with me so someone can look after my children.

I think the point is that it wouldn't have happened if the parents had either taken the children with them, had their dinner earlier so the children could have gone with them and then returned to the apartment with them or made use of the baby sitting service Mark Warner resorts offer.
I really,really feel for these parents as I've 3 small children myself, but in a strange country you take extra care, you don't leave them for a second, because thats all it takes.
If this had been a unemployed couple from a "deprived" area of the UK who had taken their children on a £9.50 Sun caravan holiday and left them to go to the pub, we, the british public would be after blood. It's no point saying it could have happened if they were at the apartment, because they weren't. I have been literally praying, meditating for her to come back day and night. With God all things are possible, my Dad came back to life after being without oxygen for over 20 minutes. He could walk, talk and speak 2 languages. Keep praying we have no reason not to think that she is not alive. I pray for her parents, there is nothing worse than being angry with yourself, they don't deserve this. Release them, forgive them and send your love. I pray for all other children that have been taken, may be in the search and recovery for little Maddy they too will be found. May be our little Maddy has captured our hearts, so strongly like no other as she is an angel sent to deliver all other children out of where ever they have been taken. As some one says . its illegal to leave a child under 12 along in the UK. So I think they were very wrong to leave their child alone in the apartment. I am sick of the news coverage - its teir fault for leaving the child in the first place. It took them 2 weeks to say how sorry they were for leaving her, while they are still happy to say "send us money". What about the poor news reporter missing for a lot longer - theres no large press coverage about him, or his family moaning on that they need money.

If they had taken proper care of their child in the first place then this would not have happened.

Madeleine is in our thoughts and prayers. I think about her everyday. I was away with my family on vacation the same week that Maddy was taken. It is my worst nightmare to have one of my children missing. I do not know how the parents are hanging on. I don't think I would be strong enough.

I think it is pointless to point blame at what the parents have done wrong, anyone who has a child would know how much they will be kicking themselves for it already, so no need for everyone else to get a kick in too. We can all only hope that she is found safe and well so she can be back home with her parents and brother and sister where she will be happy once again. My thoughts and hopes are with the McCann family, I can't begin to understand what you are going through, can only imagine the pain you feel, we can all just hope it won't be long till your little girl is returned to your arms.

Finding it really difficult to sympathise with the McCanns. They were selfish and neglectful of their 3 kids in leaving them in their apartment and going out. I heard Mr McCann say it was like having dinner in your garden at home. No it was not. It was more like going to a neighbours garden a few doors away - and no normal middle class professional would do that. It is neglect. I am also amazed that they are putting their twins into a creche! I'd have thought the normal reaction would be to not let them out of your sight, when such a terrible thing has happened.
Something does not ring true with the McCanns. They are too meassured, too unemotional, too detached. The mother especially is too cool about it, and too polished. How can she be bothered to try ribbons in her hair. She clings to Madeline's teddy, but puts her other two children in day care. Very very odd. there's a rabbit away somewhere.
And finally, this whole thing with the Pope is ridiculous.

It is not fair to suggest what happened to the McCann family was as a result of not being with little Madeline that evening. Who knows whether the individual who took Madeline in was not an opportunist but somebody who knew her parents considered her to be as safe as if they were in their own garden? Who knows whether this individual may of been a stalker in which case could of taken another opportunity to remove her? I think whether you are a Christian or not you should pray for Madeline's safe return because of the power of collective prayer!

to the people who say "everyone has done it" - left their children alone on holiday, don't you dare say that, there are lots of good parents who never leave their children unattended. The poor child will never be found, and the parents will never get justice done to them for deserting her when she needed them, they still have 2 children, they have loads of people patting them on the back saying "there there it wasn't your fault" and they have LOADS of money going into their bank accounts for them to visit countries and enjoy a permanent holiday, what about people who had children snatched and had to go back to work because they risked losing their house if they didn't. Iin the end the ONLY person who will suffer if Maddie and the life that has been stolen from her. Lets hope they are prosecuted for child neglect if they are brave enough to come back to the UK

To all these folk out there who are critising the eltern it is always easy to say they are at fault!! but what if you are in there shoes?, who is good parents these days!!! we can go out and say I am the best i n ever leave my child alone, or We can go to neighbours radio is on, we can hear when they wake up!!.I am parent and not perfect but we cant be there 24 hours a day to watch over these little ones and unfortunately it is never only with little children can also happen with older children , my heart goes out to both of the parents we dont know what they are going through till it happens with us and lets just hope and pray we are never these parents who have faces in television looking for our child!!!
