Since completing rehab treatment to keep her Miss USA crown, Tara Conner says she is a changed woman.
The beauty queen, who was ordered to undergo treatment for alcoholism by the pageant's co-owner Donald Trump, has told PEOPLE magazine exclusively that she now realizes she needed help.
Conner, who turned 21 in December, made headlines for her bar hopping, drinking, sightings with men and unreliability with her Miss USA responsibilities.
However, she told the magazine, "My life has completely changed. I'm a completely different person out of rehab. Before I entered rehab I hardly knew who I was. I felt like I was floating and I just needed someone to pull me down."
In the interview, the model admits she has tried illegal drugs and had her first alcoholic drink when she was just 14.
She said, "I didn't think I had any kind of issue going into rehab. I even said, 'I'll get some free therapy,' or something like that - and that was so ridiculous. But I've realized I do have an issue. I suffer from the disease of alcoholism and addiction. And if there's anything that I want people to know it's the severity of this disease and what it can do to people."
Trump sent the contest winner to rehab after her headline grabbing antics. Conner will now continue her duties as Miss USA.
