Mischa Barton was arrested for driving under the influence (DI) after her car was stopped by sheriff's deputies early Thursday morning in West Hollywood.
The former star of "The O.C." was taken into custody at about 2:46 a.m. by the Los Angeles County sheriff's officials.
She was said seen straddling two lanes of traffic and failing to signal while making a turn.
The 21-year-old actress was being held in a West Hollywood jail on $10,000 bail.
Barton was charged with DUI or driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of illegal narcotics and driving without a valid license."
Calls to her manager and publicist weren't immediately returned.
Barton played Marissa Cooper on hit TV series "The O.C.". Its premiere instantly garnered an overnight success, but on its third year, she was cut off from the series. Soon after, the ratings of the show dropped down until it was ended in early 2007.
