Lindsay Lohan has agreed to let her estranged father visit her in rehab. The 'Mean Girls' actress - who is currently being treated for drug and alcohol addiction in Utah's Cirque Lodge facility - hasn't seen her father, Michael, for years so the visit will be supervised by her counselors.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "It was actually her older brother, Michael's, idea. It's a part of the healing process. Lindsay will see him later this week, but she will have counselors with her. It will not be alone."
Lindsay's mother, Dina, also approved the visit and has agreed to lift the restraining order against her ex-husband. The order was put in place following Michael's "abusive temper" and "violent behavior" towards his family.
The source added: "Dina thinks it is a good idea. Lindsay needs to deal with this and needs closure."
Lindsay's representative confirmed the actress has agreed to her father's visit, saying: "Yes, Michael will be seeing his daughter."
Michael, who was released from jail in March after serving almost two years for driving without a license and attempted assault, insists he has been sober and has found God since leaving prison.
Earlier this month, Michael and Dina reached a divorce agreement. Michael said: "I wish Dina the best and I hope we can both move forward - for the kids' sake - and just be good parents."
Dina added: "Now the healing process can begin for my children and myself."
