Meryl Streep believes women have to wear make-up to be successful. The 59-year-old actress appears bare-faced in new movie "Doubt" - in which she stars as Sister Aloysius Beauvier, a nun who is determined to prove a priest guilty of sexual abuse - and although she enjoyed the experience, she understands why women choose to paint their faces.

She said: "The really freeing thing about playing the role was that you throw away everything that woman normally waste a great number of hours of the day on - what you're going to wear, how your hair looks, how your face is."

Anne Hathaway’s gotten smart about many things, but especially Hollywood. A bona fide A-lister, the range of roles she’s chosen—and nailed—are making her a star for the ages.

Naomi Watts has ruled out having plastic surgery. The "Eastern Promises" actress - who is expecting her second child with partner Liev Schreiber - hates the idea of going under the knife to preserve her looks, and wants to follow in the footsteps of other actresses who have resisted surgery.

She said: "I hope to grow older gracefully. Meryl Streep is a real example of how to age beautifully - her features are still like those of her younger self."
