Once she had made up her mind, she just ran it.

Melissa Etheridge recently decided to reevaluate her perspective on life and focus her attention on environmental issues.

The Grammy-winning singer was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago and is now in remission. Since beating the disease, Melissa says she wanted to take some time to devote her energies to an important issue affecting our everyday living.

When she was given the opportunity to provide music for a documentary entitled "An Inconvenient Truth" about global warming, which also features former Vice-President Al Gore, Melissa knew that was exactly what she wanted to do.

According to StarPulse.com, she said, "This was a very special opportunity for me. I had just been through my own special awakening, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. After that, when my perspective and my life had changed, I realized that I am not on an island."
