Melanie Brown has made sure that her daughter will have a father figure in her life no matter what happens with Eddie Murphy.
The former Spice Girl has secretly married her new boyfriend, music producer Stephen Belafonte. The couple have only recently stepped out together as an item, however they officially became husband and wife on June 6 according to Clark Country public records.
The mother of two - who is currently battling Eddie in a paternity case - had been single since splitting with the comedian in 2006.
Mel's publicist confirmed the marriage to PEOPLE, saying, "Regarding the marriage, Mel and Stephen have know each other for many years and were great friends first. Now they are deeply in love. The two are very happy together."
The singer has been married once before, during her days as Scary Spice, to dancer Jimmy Gazar. The couple had a daughter together, Phoenix Chi.
Mel and Stephen have been vacationing in Miami, Florida.
