Meg Ryan Says Adopting Her Daughter Daisy Was Like A Metaphysical Kind Of Labor

Meg Ryan says adopting her daughter was like a "metaphysical kind of labor." "The Women" actress - who adopted Daisy True, now three, from China in 2006 - admits the process has many similarities to natural birth, with all the same emotions.

Meg, who also has a 16-year-old son Jack Henry with ex-husband Dennis Quaid, said: "It's such a deliberate act, this adoption, as opposed to getting pregnant sometimes. You have to be very, very awake."

Hilary Swank To Gain 30 Pounds For Her Next Film Role

Hilary Swank To Gain 30 Pounds For Her Next Film Role

Hilary Swank is set to gain 30 lbs for her next movie role. The actress - who lost a huge amount of weight to star in 2004 movie "Million Dollar Baby," a role for which she won an Oscar - will pile on the pounds to appear in the movie adaptation of Mireille Guiliano's best-selling book "French Women Don't Get Fat."

A source close to the movie, which Hilary will also produce, told gossip website E! online: "She'll gain 20 to 30lbs. But it's no sweat. She has played a man before in 'Boys Don't Cry.' She can handle anything."

Meg Ryan Happy With Being Less Famous; Balancing High Profile Career And Love Life Challenging

Meg Ryan Happy With Being Less Famous; Balancing High Profile Career And Love Life Challenging

Meg Ryan is pleased about being "less famous". The 'Sleepless In Seattle' star believes her affair with Hollywood tough guy Russell Crowe in 2000 - which ended her nine-year marriage to Dennis Quaid - actually reduced her profile.

She said: "I think it's great being less famous. I blame the fact I had, shall we say, a meeting with Russell Crowe. "I had never seen or heard such bad press about me and it's been great in a funny kind of way. It was a good thing because I now realize the world does not revolve around me."
