John Mayer is no longer talking in code - or Japanese - when he is asked about Jessica Simpson.
The couple, who have been traveling together on Mayer's national tour, are officially an item after months of speculation - and the singer/songwriter is happy about it.
The "Your Body Is A Wonderland" singer told Time Out New York magazine, "I'm having the best time of my life, so if the names don't make sense to people, that's so small to me."
The shaggy haired singer, who has managed to capture the heart of one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelorettes, denies that he denied he is dating the pop star.
He said, "I don't think I've ever denied it. When did I deny it?"
It is the first 'public affair' for Simpson, who split from husband Nick Lachey after their access-all-areas reality show MTV's "Newlyweds" wrapped.
Mayer, meanwhile, has previously been linked to Jennifer Love Hewitt and Heidi Klum.
