Matthew McConaughey needed stitches after cutting his face while training for his new movie.
The "Sahara" actor was seen with bandages over his left eye yesterday after he suffered injuries training to play a heavy-for-hire in new comedy "The Grackle".
McConaughey's representative said, "Matthew was doing training, based on the principles of the Ultimate Fighting Championships, when he suffered a cut face which required medical treatment and stitches."
The 38-year-old actor is to play a brute who hires himself out for $250-a-time to settle disputes for people who can't afford a lawyer.
McConaughey is currently dating Brazilian model Camila Alves.
The party-loving actor spent the summer living in a trailer on a Malibu beach but left the rustic abode for a hotel after Alves allegedly refused to move in.
The pair checked into Malibu's Polaroid Beach House hotel in July and began house-hunting together.
