Sir Elton John is to have a street named after him. Councilors in the London borough of Harrow are considering honoring their most famous former resident following a Local Government Network report which encourages the celebration of local heroes.

Deputy leader of Harrow Council Councilor Susan Hall said: "We are supportive of any initiative that supports pride in our streets and strengthens a sense of community."

The Scottish-born actor, who resides in New York, and commercial illustrator Grant Shaffer tied the knot in a unique and quirky ceremony that started in London, floated down the Thames River and finished in Greenwich.
