| Music mogul and former rapper Master P has been given a key to the city of Memphis, as recognition for his philanthropic efforts and works in the community on Saturday. Real name Percy Miller, the CEO and founder of P. Miller Enterprises was honored by Mayor Willie Herenton during the inaugural of Let The Kids Grow Day at the Mud Island Amphitheater. | | | | | |
| Many Barbra Streisand fans aren't quite so happy and excited about seeing their music icon in concert right now-that is, if they even get a chance to. Ticketmaster revealed that thousands of tickets for the singer's shows in New York, Las Vegas, and other locations were purchased on the company's website using stolen credit cards, thus forcing Ticketmaster to make the tickets no longer valid. Many fans who purchased their tickets through Internet resale websites ended up caught in a mess they can't get out of. Now these fans are merely crap out of luck. | |
| Rap mogul and "Dancing With The Stars" vet Master P and his brother, rapper Silkk the Shocker, pleaded guilty to weapons charges stemming from their arrests last month for carrying unregistered guns. The brothers faced up to three years in state prison, if convicted. Master P had the luxury of not actually appearing in court, and was represented there by his lawyer. In exchange for his guilty plea, the felony weapons charge he faced was reduced to a misdemeanor, he was sentenced to one day in jail, a fine of $720 and will serve 40 hours of community service either with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts or speaking to high school students about the danger of guns. | | | |
