Many eyebrows where raised when Marilyn Manson revealed he is dating 19-year-old Evan Rachel Wood.
The shock rockers friends say that Manson is having a "midlife crisis" by hooking up with the actress young enough to be his daughter.
One pal tells PEOPLE magazine, "It's like he's having a mid-life crisis. He's with a younger version of Dita."
The "Beautiful People" singer's wife, model and dancer Dita Von Teese, filed for divorce in December.
While neither party has revealed if an affair was the reason for their split, Manson and Wood were seen together as early as January 5.
The singer's posse says that his relationship with the "Thirteen" star is getting serious, after she gave him a pet for his birthday.
One said that the star gave Manson a "live scorpion in a cage" for his 38th birthday.
Manson and Von Teese were married for a little over 12 months.

Ok, For a truely beutiful girl like Evan Rachel Wood to be with someone like Manson is great.
I believe opposites attract.. I guess in a way i'm sort of a watered down version of Manson, and i've always found that i'm more interested in girls that are different than i am.
So Manson, hope you and her work things out and have a good life together.
