Talk about the grueling pressure. It's unusual to have a family member direct you in a movie and tell you what to do, but for Jason Schwartzman it was ultimately the right formula to help him get into his larger than life character.
Jason was able to fully deliver on the set of his new movie Maria Antoinette because his director, Sofia Coppola, is also his cousin and knew exactly how to guide him in his one-of-a-kind movie role.
The actor, who plays French King XVI in the epic movie, says Sofia would often recall some of their childhood memories to help him act out a scene perfectly. He admits that even though it was unfair to have this special relationship with the director on set, in the end, he was also very fortunate.
According to StarPulse.com, he explained, "I was insecure with Sofia in the beginning because she could see right through everything I did. But, because she's my cousin, she was like a library and she would reference a story from when we were five and that would help me in a scene. It was kind of unfair because nobody else had that with the director."
