Jennifer Lopez's husband Marc Anthony almost quit their new movie because it included scenes where he had to be abusive to her.

The singer-and-actor has revealed they both found the scenes in 'El Cantante' very difficult to shoot, but their "normal" marriage got them through it.

Marc said in an interview with Latina magazine: "All my actor friends warned us, saying, 'Those abusive husband-and-wife scenes are going to be difficult.' It almost scared me into quitting."

"With those scenes, we'd end up exhausted. But driving home, we'd just look at each other and say, 'We are so normal.'"

Meanwhile, Jennifer recently said she believed having a baby would "solidify" her marriage.

She revealed: "Marc and I just saw the film 'Children of Men'. The message of the movie was if we don't have children, there's no hope for the future - maybe that's what all the pregnancy rumors are about. Or maybe it's not that deep."
