With many starlets slimming down drastically, going to jail and ending up in rehab, Mandy Moore is a breath of good-girl fresh air.
The singer and actress has managed to raise her profile and popularity but keep her dignity - and body - in shape.
Mandy, who is currently single after dating Andy Roddick and Zach Braff, has revealed that she likes being a role model for 'normal' girls. Despite being stunningly beautiful, Mandy takes her body image seriously.
She told Us Weekly magazine, "Personally, if I weren't in the public eye, I would want someone in this position to just be normal because that's believable and that's acceptable and there's nothing wrong with it. This is how we're supposed to look."
While Mandy admits that she will occasionally slim down for her on-screen appearances, she says that she doesn't obsess over it - which is refreshing in an industry filled with starlets like Nicole Richie and Kate Bosworth.
She said, "Being a young woman in this industry, there's enough pressure, it's hard enough as it is. I felt like, for this job, you sacrifice so much already that the last thing I want to do is make myself feel really horrible."
The "Because I Said So" star doesn't have trouble remembering what's important in life - but there are some things she needs a refresher on.
During a performance at Club Stereo recently, the star forgot the words to her most well-known song, "Candy." Proving she is one singer who doesn't lip-sync, Mandy read the words off her BlackBerry.
