Madonna stunned fellow passengers by injecting herself with vitamins during a flight, it has been reported.
The pop superstar, who was flying from Britain to the US, also didn't eat and only drank bottled water during the seven-hour flight.
A passenger is quoted by Britain's Metro newspaper as saying: "Just before landing she brought out some phials of vitamins and injected herself."
"Seven hours is a long time to go without eating. She was also very quiet and only spoke to the air stewards to ask for water."
Madonna's spokesman said she "would not comment" on whether the star has ever used vitamins injections.
Health experts insist vitamin injections - which are also reportedly used by Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears - should only be administered after consulting a doctor.
Anna Denny, nutrition scientist at the British Nutrition Foundation said: "They can be useful for the elderly and the very young, but generally they're unnecessary."
"We wouldn't recommend taking them without consulting a GP first."
The singer, who turns 49 tomorrow, follows a strict diet and exercise regime to keep her body in excellent health. Madonna performs Ashtanga yoga every day and has a highly disciplined macrobiotic eating plan, which allows her to eat grains, rice and raw vegetables but forbids caffeine, alcohol, bread and pasta.
