Madonna has blasted London's mayor and its transport system. The pop superstar, who is never shy to express her opinions, says that she won't be voting for Mayor Ken Livingston in the forthcoming elections because all he wants is "roadworks everywhere."
The 49-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer hits out at the congestion charge of the city and says that the traffic is worse than ever.
She tells Q magazine, "I would make it so that young musician wouldn't have to pay the congestion charge or taxes so they have more money for other things."
She also adds that Livingston can count on her to place her vote on someone else's name but his.
The "Material Girl" adds, "All Red Ken wants is roadworks everywhere. I'll just have to walk I guess."
However, Friends of the Earth London campaigner Jenny Bates says, "The C-charge has reduced congestion and cut carbon dioxide emissions."
Mayor Livingston's rep adds, "If we hadn't had the C-charge, we would now be in gridlock. The roadworks she refers to are long overdue."
