With rumors of Nicole Richie being pregnant, gossips have been worried how the super-skinning star will cope with motherhood.
However, one person has been forgotten about - Nicole's father, Lionel Richie.
The pop legend has refused to comment on the reports that his adopted daughter is three months pregnant to boyfriend Joel Madden, however he has revealed that he isn't ready to take on a new role.
The one-time sex symbol expressed his fear to People, saying, "Grandpa, man, that's wild. I don't know if I'm going to be grandpa, I don't know if I'm ready to be called grandpa."
Nicole's camp has continued to stay silent over the speculation that "The Simple Life" star is with child. They said, "[We have] nothing to report," when questioned over the possibility of a pregnancy.
Cynics have stated that the tiny 25-year-old could be planning on starting a family to avoid jail time when she faces DUI charges. Rather than be angry with his daughter for her reckless driving - which included driving the wrong way down a highway - Lionel says that life is just hard under the media microscope.
He said, "She's just in an unfortunate situation. There's just so much information out there right now - MySpace, cell phones, the internet."
Nicole will appear in court on July 11.
