Lindsay Lohan had to cancel her appearance on Jay Leno Tuesday because of an early morning car chase that resulted in her arrest. She was charged with driving under the influence as well as felony drug charges for alleged cocaine possession.
After this latest legal incident along with being unable to fulfill promotional obligations, Lohan may have difficulty finding employment as an actress. Lohan was supposed to be promoting her new movie "I Know Who Killed Me," which opens this Friday. Additionally, the shooting of her next film "Poor Things" has already been delayed since May because of her stint in rehab.
Lohan had entered the Promises Rehab Facility after she was arrested and charged for a DUI in May. Since her release two weeks ago, she has been seen partying and reports say this will not sit well with major studios as it appears Lohan is not taking matters seriously.
The owner of a Los Angeles talent agency who does not want to reveal his identity, told ABC News Lohan is now a huge liability on set and securing insurance for her will be difficult.
He said: "Say you're going to make a $5 million movie, and you're hiring Lindsay Lohan as the lead. Right away, you have insurance should she fall, break a leg or get injured. But to know that she has this history -- what insurance company is going to want to hop onboard?"
Employing the 21-year-old actress may also add to unforeseen production costs, "what if she doesn't come to work for three days, and you have to pay $300,000 to keep the set going?" he adds.
During a press conference, Police Lt. Alex Padilla told reporters that Lohan's latest arrest Monday evening came after a phone call to authorities from the mother of Lohan's personal assistant saying she was being followed by Lohan in her car. It is not known why Lohan was pursuing the woman, but the personal assistant quit her job earlier that day.
According to police, Lohan was taken into custody at 1:30 a.m. and registered a blood-alcohol level of about 0.12 percent, well above the California limit of 0.08. She was driving on a suspended license and a small amount of cocaine was found in her pants during the booking process.
She was released from jail after posting a $25,000 bond.
