Lindsay Lohan may be more famous for her contribution to the Californian rehab economy than her contribution to film, but that doesn't mean she can't be awarded for her work in cinema.

The actress, who has not had a hit film since "Freaky Friday" and "Mean Girls", has been the guest of honor at the Capri Film Festival over the weekend.

The troubled 21-year-old star attended the festival, where her career was applauded.

Festival organizer Pascal Vicedomini told WENN, "We are delighted to recognize her talent as a performing artist, as well as her position as an icon in the world of entertainment."

Lindsay had a mediocre year in films. "I Know Who Killed Me" and "Georgia Rule" were both commercial and critical bombs and she spent the majority of her time in rehab dealing with her addictions to drugs and alcohol.
