Lindsay Lohan is following the footsteps of Katherine Heigl after she has refused to submit her name for consideration at the upcoming Emmy Awards.

The 21-year-old actress recently appeared in a guest role on the hit series "Ugly Betty," thus qualifying her to be nominated for the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series category.

However, she insists that her role appeared too briefly to be nominated for an Emmy.

Publicist Leslie Sloane tells L.A. Times' Gold Derby, "The appearance was brief. We made a decision to wait."

Lohan would wait until the show's next season, where she will have more on-air exposure, to ask for a nomination.

Meanwhile, Heigl recently asked her name to be taken out of the Emmy contenders' list. She explained that she thought she was given poor material to be nominated for an Emmy.
