Lily Allen sings for people to "Smile" but maybe she needs to take some of her own advice before attacking her musical colleagues.
The new British singer has shared her thoughts on someone loved by the music world - Madonna - and on someone forgotten for his musical talents - Pete Doherty.
Allen, who is joined by Amy Winehouse as a new wave of outspoken musical females in the vein of the Spice Girls, doesn't quiet understand the popularity with Madonna - even if the Queen of Pop did pave the way for such singers.
She told GQ magazine, "I haven't got anything against her at all but I don't think anything she's done since the early Eighties has really been, like 'Wow.' She might have meant something once but I don't know many people my age who care."
Also not on Allen's Ipod play list is James Blunt. Allen said her opinion of the "You're Beautiful" singer "rhymes with his surname."
But the opinion many people probably wouldn't argue with is regarding Pete Doherty - the junkie musician responsible for making wild supermodel Kate Moss even wilder.
Allen said, "I do think he has to be exterminated. It is a bit dull, isn't it? I've always been surrounded by smack heads anyway. It's like, 'Get over it.'"
But getting over it is something Moss has been unable to do. Much to the dismay of many friends and fans, the model is engaged to the wayward star.
The pair recently enjoyed a relaxing weekend at her country estate, picking flowers and riding around on quad-bikes. Photographers were quick to pick up Moss's engagement ring. It further confirms to impending nuptials after Doherty dedicated a song "to my fiancee" while performing a solo show.
