According to Queen Bee Lil' Kim's lawyer, she is adjusting well to living without the former mainstays in her life, including designer clothes, expensive champagne, posh jewels, and all the plastic surgery she could handle. The music star is serving a 366-day bid for lying to a grand jury, at Philly's Federal Detention Center.
Her lawyer James Leonard Jr. tells AllHipHop.com, "The warden and the staff at the FDC have been great with Kim. She has neither sought [nor] received any special treatment. They have respected her privacy and have treated her extremely fair."
Her scheduled release date is August 2, however, Leonard believes she could possibly hit the bricks as soon as June. Kim would then be placed on house arrest until early August and on three years supervised release.
Leonard says, "That is something that we are aggressively working on right now."
Even from the big house, Lil' Kim is giving back to the community. Her non-profit organization "Lil' Kim Cares," hosted a Christmas toy giveaway which attracted over 1,000 local residents.
The event was broadcast live on a local radio station and was co-sponsored by Philadelphia resident Charlie Mack and Brooklyn boxing champion Zab Judah and his Fight For Life Foundation.
Leonard says, "The charity event was a huge success and something that was very near and dear to Kim's heart."
