If things had gone as planned, Leonardo DiCaprio would have been "The Good Shepherd."
It was recently revealed by the film's director that Leonardo was originally chosen to star in "The Good Shepherd." However, problems arose and schedule conflicts forced the green-conscious actor to drop out of the movie. Then with no time to lose, Matt Damon was re-cast in the role.
Director Robert de Niro explained, "Leonardo DiCaprio was originally going to do it, but he had schedule problems and it got so complicated. I said I had to move on quickly because I had all the machinery of the movie moving forward."
De Niro, who is best known in front of the camera, admits taking control of the shots for the second time couldn't have been done so well without the help of his good friend and fellow director Martin Scorsese, who taught him a thing or two about working behind the camera.
He added, "I've done eight movies with Marty, so obviously something has to rub off."
