British reporters released a video of an interview with a woman who claims to be Angelina Jolie's adopted daughter's biological mother. The 24-year-old woman is Mentwabe Dawit and she tells her story from conception to adoption of Zahara Jolie-Pitt. Dawit reported that she became pregnant when she was forcibly raped by an anonymous man. She gave birth to a girl, naming her Yemsrach, which in the Amharic language means "good news." Unable to properly nourish the child, Dawit ran away long enough to make Dawit's mother put the child up for adoption. The child, then, was adopted by film actress Angelina Jolie. Dawit states that she does not wish to reclaim her child but rather only wish to someday meet her when the child has grown up. She says, "I think my daughter is a very fortunate human being to be adopted by a world-famous lady. I wish them both all the success they deserve." Jolie adopted Zahara through the Wide Horizons for Children agency and affirms that the adoption is legal and binding.
