During the Beatles era, he was often photographed sitting cross-leged on a deerskin, with a garland of flowers around his neck while sporting a scraggly beard. Maharishi, who is believed to have been in his 90s, is credited with introducing transcendental meditation to the West. A cause for his death was not given. |
