Kylie Minogue has been named Woman of the Year by Britain's Glamour magazine.
The "Spinning Around" singer, who went through a highly publicized battleagainst cancer this year (2006), was not present at the London ceremony, but thanked the public in a moving message.
Minogue said, "The last year has been my least public but, in many ways, themost. Your support has been an enormous help and I hope to be back with you all in person very soon."
Fellow nominees applauded the 38-year-old singer. Those in attendance at the awards were Charlotte Church, who won the Solo Artist of the Year award, and British actress Billie Piper, who scooped the accolade for Best United Kingdom TV actress.
