Kylie Minogue has revealed, for the first time, how she fell to pieces after being diagnosed with cancer.
The pop princess fought back the tears as she revealed in a candid interview with British TV presenter Cat Deeley that she tried to run away after hearing the dreaded news in May of 2005.
She said: "The moment my doctors told me, I went silent. My mom and dad were with me. We all fell to pieces. I was saying, 'No, I'm getting a place'. They said, 'No you're not, sit down'."
The 'Spinning Around' singer was told her breast cancer was in full remission in January, after she underwent months of grueling chemotherapy treatment that caused her hair to fall out.
During the frank hour-long special, "Kylie In Her Own Words", the Australian star emotionally thanks her family and boyfriend Olivier Martinez for their support.
She then goes on to discuss her future projects, including a children's book and a new album, and insists she is determined to complete her 'Showgirl' tour - which she was forced to cancel after the diagnosis.
The interview can be seen on British satellite channel Sky One on July 16.
