Brit and Grammy award-winning pop star Kylie Minogue has just been immortalized in her hometown In Australia.
Sculptor Peter Corlett has made a life-size likeness of Minogue in bronze complete with lace body stocking and high-heels. It will stand alongside other Australian entertainment giants in a Walk of Fame a la Hollywood at Melbourne Docklands.
Corlett said he was inspired by the pop star's Showgirl tour and created a stature representing the "ultimate Kylie." The figure took three months to make and was posed for by a waitress with the same body measurement and build as Minogue. He had to work with the singer's management and dressmakers in London to get her exact body measurements.
The body double was able to replicate the 39-year-old singer's pose to help Corlett produce the final version.
It was a "one-in-a-million opportunity," 27-year-old Sophia James said of the modeling job.
