Kristin Cavallari has welcomed in her roaring 20s like any other young girl would - with friends, family and presents.
However, the former "Laguna Beach" star had the added bonus of celebrating her belated birthday at the opening of Sideways Restaurant & Lounge, the latest Hollywood hotspot favored by the likes of Britney Spears.
Aspiring actress Cavallari enjoyed her party, which was postponed because of a wisdom tooth operation.
She told PEOPLE magazine, "This is the first time I've seen my friends [in a while] so I'm having the best time. I'm kind of getting over the club scene. I like this better because you can actually talk to someone instead of yelling at them. You can talk, eat food and just hang out with your friends."
The star had spent the past week out of the L.A. party scene. Instead she spent her time at home where she "lied in bed and watched TV, which is actually nice because I haven't done that in awhile but the whole wisdom teeth thing was a pain. Ugh. I'm just sort of able to smile again."
Cavallari smiled plenty throughout the night, spending it with actor Nick Zano, who she partied with on New Year's Eve.
The former flame of Nick Lachey and Brody Jenner was mum on the subject of romance, and simply said, "He's a sweet guy. I'm very happy now. I'm in a happy place."
