Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise are both getting ready to celebrate their first Christmas with their new significant others, but for the "Fur" actress it could be a harder time than expected.
According to reports, Kidman and her husband of six months Keith Urban, are using the festive season to get their marriage back on track.
Since tying the knot in their home-country Australia in June, the couple have spent most of their time as newlyweds apart as Urban was treated for alcoholism in Nashville and Kidman got to work filming in London.
Now that they are both again under the same roof, sources say that they are trying extra hard to keep their young marriage alive.
An insider is alleged to have told Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper, "It hasn't been easy for Nicole as Keith is the love of her life. They are really trying to hold the marriage together with lots of heart-to-hearts. Both realize this is make-or-break time."
Meanwhile, the Oscar winning actress has spent the lead up to Christmas practicing the act of giving. The UN ambassador spent the day at Sydney Children's Hospital, where she screened a special premier showing of her animated movie "Happy Feet".
Kidman, who has two children from her marriage to Cruise, was touched after spending quality time with the sick children who will be confined to hospital over Christmas Day.
She said, "This makes me very emotional, very happy and I'm very thrilled that I am able to do something like this."
