Keira Knightley's actor boyfriend will play Britain's Prince Albert in 'The Young Victoria.' Rupert Friend will star opposite Emily Blunt - who takes on the title role of Queen Victoria I - in the movie exploring the intense romance between the 19th century monarch and Albert.
The film, directed by Jean-Marc Vallee, will also concentrate on Victoria's ascension to the throne at just 18-years-old.
Although the film, produced by Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and Graham King, focuses on Victoria and Albert's passionate love, there will be no sex scenes.
'The Departed' producer King told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "There was a lot of passion in this relationship. I mean, they did have nine children, but we're going to be tasteful in what we show."
The filmmaker also added that he was adamant the project should be shot in Britain. He said: "You can't shoot a film about a great queen of England in bloody Budapest or Bucharest - or at least I can't. Audiences aren't stupid. They travel, so they know an Eastern European landscape when they see one."
Queen Victoria was so devastated by her beloved husband's death in 1861 she wore black for the rest of her life and remained largely secluded.
Friend is best known for playing Mr Wickham in 'Pride And Prejudice' - where he met his actress girlfriend. He also recently starred in 'Outlaw' alongside Sean Bean.
