Tom Cruise's fiancee Katie Holmes gave birth to 7lb 7oz daughter at near Beverly Hills.

The healthy little girl was named Suri, which means princess in Hebrew and "Red Rose" in Persian. She was born at St John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California.

The couple said in a statement "Both mother and daughter are doing well." Tom also has a daughter, Isabella, 13, and an 11-year-old son Connor, both adopted with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
