For the first time in Paris Hilton's life, people closer to her are hoping that others will learn from her.
With the hotel heiress preparing to spend some time in jail, her mother, Kathy, has come forward and urged people to see Paris as an example.
The controversial star is famous for her amateur porn film, extravagant lifestyle and the phrase "That's Hot" and has even tried to get a pardon, an appeal and a petition to escape jail time.
However, her mother has now come to grips with the fact that her eldest child will be locked up and wants other young people to learn from the mistake of drinking and driving... and then repeatedly driving with a suspended license.
Kathy told Barbara Walters via a statement, "We can only hope that something positive will come from this. Hopefully, young people who look up to people like Paris can learn from this."
When the sentence was initially revealed, Kathy reportedly yelled in the court house, "This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with this nonsense. It's a joke."
