Believe it or not, it's been said that Kate Middleton, the girlfriend of Prince William, is a relative of the late children's author Beatrix Potter.
A genealogy expert claims to have found a link between Kate's family tree and the author's, whose life story has been made into a hit new film "Miss Potter" starring Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor.
The expert told Britain's Daily Express newspaper, "Kate is a descendant of a well-heeled Leeds dynasty, the Luptons, and is a cousin of two Lupton sisters - Elizabeth and Elinor - who were cousins of Miss Potter. They received illustrated greetings cards from the author in the early days of the 20th century."
Beatrix Potter wrote and illustrated many children's books about a collection of animal characters. Her most famous creation was Peter Rabbit, but she also wrote the tales of Jemima Puddleduck, Benjamin Bunny, Miss Tiggywinkle and Tom Kitten.
The author originally never intended to publish her books but invented the stories in illustrated letters to her young relatives.

I am more White than most of you the Color of your Skin. But I am not racial towards any race because people have different skin color. Prince William & I & some other people are way too civilized to let race get in our way. We are in LOVE & we will stay in LOVE & marry for LOVE & die for LOVE. Is anybody with me on this one? Cheryl said that my parents seem to be upset that my nephew Peter have a White girlfriend & that if he marries to her that my parents are upset that the inheritance would go to White children so they had preferred that Peter marries to an Indian girl for the inheritance to go to Indian children.

Miss Middleton is a cousin of Bessie and Elinor Lupton, who were themselves 2nd cousins of Beatrix Potter. Kate isn't actually related to the authoress.
